Petrogas E&P reaffirms its commitment towards corporate social responsibility by supporting the Autism Centres
Petrogas E&P has further strengthened its commitment to corporate social responsibility by partnering with the Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disability offering financial aid as well as with the Muscat Autism Centre by sponsoring its diverse needs.
The Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disability (AEICD) was established in 2000 to address the overwhelming needs of young children with disability from birth to age 6 years and their families. Over the past twelve years, the AEICD has established itself as the only centre in Oman that provides a wide range of services for children with all types of disabilities (except for the blind) and their families. These services include assessment, rehabilitation, kindergarten, portage program, family support, community awareness, advocacy, capacity building and workshops supportive aids for children. These services are provided by an interdisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and psychologists, home visitors and special education teachers. Overall, the association serves about 255 children with disabilities and their families and provides assessment for over 1400 children from all the regions in Oman regardless of their nationality.
The company has sponsored complete care and education of 4 children who fall under the purview of this programme for a period of one year offering RO 12, 000 to the Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disability.
Petrogas E&P has also partnered with the Muscat Autism Centre supporting children with special needs. As part of the agreement, the company has provided teaching aids to help children with autism, educational CD’s to develop their skills, 6PC’s for their class rooms, 6 educational tables with chairs specially designed for children and fixed blinds for 8 class rooms.
